Good news about the big Olive Ridley turtle, Chippy, that we have rescued a week ago. Four Seasons at Kuda Huraa marine biologists managed to transfer the turtle via speedboat to Baa Atoll (Four Seasons Resort at Landaa Giraavaru) on the same day that the turtle was found. There they have got good facilities for turtles and they will be taking care of the injured animal.
We have recently received an update from Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, where marine biologist Yoann and his team have successfully stitched both of her front limbs. They report that due to the severity of the injuries, the turtle will undergo a long healing process. We have also received some pictures of the holding facilities there, and the Chippy itself.
