Despite the fact that we had very few divers available this month, Gili Lankanfushi team and three of our guests still went out for a reef cleanup this month. Destination – Bogy Faru reef (just of a neighbouring island).
As we descended to the bottom we were surrounded by a school of yellow-fin surgeonfish, and also, three Napoleon wrasse came to inspect the divers. But we had no time to waste, we left the surgeonfish behind and swam off to clean the reef. 40 minutes later we have surfaced with just 6 kg of rubbish (mainly cans and various plastic containers). Oddest item this month – a baby shoe, which the ocean has decorated with beautiful algae.
