At the end of last year, the Popler family rescued a juvenile Olive Ridley that was entangled in a plastic jute sack which they named Ruby. Ruby was dehydrated, unable to dive, and suffered injuries to her neck and front left flipper. She was then transferred to the Reefscapers team at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa who have been giving her daily care and treatment.
Since then, ruby has been rapidly recovering. She is now happy diving to the bottom of her pool and her injuries are healing well. However, she is not thrilled when the Reefscapers team have to take her out of her pool to clean and treat her wounds every day. She’s active and we’re sure she will be ready to return home to the ocean soon!
