Coral species: Acropora hyacinthus
Unfortunately the El Nino bleaching event in April 2016 killed all the colonies on this line. The species Acropora hyacinthus was one of the worst effected during this warm period, and has been locally wiped out on the reefs. Of all the hyacinthus lines we had, only 2 remain with some living colonies on them. Whilst this is not good news, it is important for our research. I’m also sad because this was the first line I planted at Gili Lankanfushi and i remember it well! If you would like us to plant you a new line, please contact us at [email protected].
