Coral species: Acropora species

Update May, 2021: this coral line has been left to grow for a considerable number of years, and as a result, we were able to transplant some fairly large colonies back to the natural reef. Since this line survived the 2016 mass bleaching event which wiped out 73% of the shallow water corals in the Maldives, this was an especially important line to transplant. We hope that it will soon pass on its strong genes to a new generation of corals so the reefs around Gili Lankanfushi can begin to regenerate!
