Update May, 2021: this line had been left to grow for a considerable amount of time and has produced 14 large colonies! Some of these colonies had grown so much in size that they became fused with their neighbours, giving us 8 large clumps to transplant in total. Since this line survived the 2016 mass bleaching event, this was a particularly important line to transplant back onto the natural reef as these colonies have shown increased resilience to environmental stress factors. We hope that these corals will spawn in the future, so it can pass on its strong genes to future generations to help repopulate the reef! As of now it is home to many different kinds of fish and invertebrates.
