This coral line looks beautiful, coupled with high survival rates, it has become a very resilient line. It survived through the 2016 El Nino event where high water temperatures caused almost 80% of the coral on our house reef to bleach. We will keep you updated on survival rates and our future plans for this line. Until then please enjoy the picture below.
Update July, 2021: this line had been left to grow for a considerable amount of time on the nursery giving these colonies the opportunity to grow significantly in size before transplanting. Since a large portion had survived the 2016 mass bleaching event, which killed 72% of all shallow water corals in the Maldives, this was an especially important line to transplant to the natural reef as it will contribute to its overall resilience.
