Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Pink October 2024

For several years, Gili Lankanfushi has recognised October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and teamed up with a non-profit organisation to gather donations for the cause. This year is the same, as guests can participate in enjoyable activities while supporting the cause in various ways. This year’s partnership is with the Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM).

We have lined up activities throughout the month for all to take part and to play a little part in giving and supporting the Cancer Society of Maldives.

Pink Ribbons

• For the whole month of October, all of Gili Lankanfushi’s hosts will wear a pink ribbon.
• Pink ribbons will also be available during our weekly management cocktail for guests.
  

Management Cocktail
We encourage all hosts and guests attending the cocktail to come dressed in their favorite shades of pink.

Force of Life Letters
A ‘Pink October’ booth will be open during the management cocktail.

• We are inviting everyone to write notes of encouragement, strength and positivity for Breast cancer patients.
  
• Our goal is to collect 100 letters to be distributed locally and internationally.
  

Donation at Checkout 
For the month of October, we are including Cancer Society of Maldives, as our beneficiary for the optional donation during guest checkout. Donors will also tie their pink ribbon tag on the “Giving Tree.”

Pink Movie Night – World Mental Health Day
Join us on Pink Movie night where all proceeds will go to Cancer Society of Maldives.

• Tickets start at $10 – all proceeds will go to Cancer Society of Maldives
  

Splash for a Cause!
Our very own FUNdraising event is back again this year! Jump from the Overwater Bar deck in the lagoon, making a splash – winners will be chosen based on creativity/originality of costume, execution and the splash/audience impact. We invite everyone to jump and make a big splash and splurge for a good cause.

Pink October 3K Fun Run/Walk for Cancer Society of Maldives
Join us, as Gili Lankanfushi participates in this nationwide event benefiting the Cancer Society of Maldives. Bibs for the run will be sold in support of the programmes and projects of CSM.

Pink Aqua Sunset Yoga
Join us for a sunset aqua yoga session at the pool for a cool and relaxing time.
